Just steps from the Eiffel Tower, Le 16 brings together the training programs of Cinquième Sens Institute, the experiences of Cinquième Sens Atelier, and the expertise of Cinquième Sens Studio in a single location. Here you learn, exchange, and create — and, thanks to three dedicated spaces, you can also feel, formulate, and work independently.
A place to learn, feel, create and share
A scent is rarely understood at a distance: one must encounter it, compare it, let it awaken memory, and then return to smell it. At 16, rue de Monttessuy, everything is designed with this in mind. Participants in training, independent perfumers, evaluators, brand creators, teams, and curious individuals come together to learn, experiment, or advance a project.
This place provides a concrete address for Cinquième Sens’ mission: to transmit a living olfactory culture and make its know-how accessible. Cinquième Sens Institute trains there, Cinquième Sens Studio observes, evaluates, and creates, and Cinquième Sens Atelier brings the pleasure of feeling together to life. Olfaction, OlfaLab, and OlfaWork extend this experience by giving everyone the means to practice independently.

OlfaLab & OlfaWork
Two spaces, two uses
OlfaLab. Six confidential positions, precision balances and organs for weighing 400 raw materials in 5% ethanol solution allow for weighing, testing and modifying a composition. Access is subject to an aptitude test.
OlfaWork. A calm environment, internet connection and access to the Olfathèque® enriched during your stay to prepare, analyze or document a project.

In the Olfaction room, more than 500 raw materials and as many important perfumes from the market are within reach. You can train your sense of smell, compare references, refine your vocabulary, or fuel your research.
The Olfactorium® and Cinquième Sens folders help transform an intuitive perception into precise landmarks — because, as Monique Schlienger reminded us, «the more you smell, the better you smell.» This is a natural extension of a Cinquième Sens Institute training and a valuable exploration ground for professionals accompanied by Cinquième Sens Studio.
