Hermès Parfums
Traveling through the same olfactory culture
A perfume travels with a story, materials and gestures. When it crosses borders, its narrative must remain precise without becoming uniform. The teams that present it need shared words, but above all a common experience of what they will then have to convey.
For international seminars dedicated, among other things, to Barénia Eau de Parfum Intense, the leather note and various topics related to perfume culture, Hermès Parfums wanted to allow participants to experience the materials and structures mentioned in the training content.
Cinquième Sens has designed and provided Olfactoriums adapted to the Maison’s curricula. The kits combine the pedagogical discourse with an organized discovery of materials, notes, and olfactory landmarks. They make tangible what would remain abstract in an exclusively visual or verbal presentation.
The system has been designed for different formats of seminars, including virtual ones, and for decentralized ordering by market.
Brand managers, trainers, retail teams and local distributors can thus share a common sensory base. This culture is not a set of words to be repeated word for word: it becomes a lived experience that each professional can understand, adopt and translate with accuracy.
By giving concrete form to knowledge, Cinquième Sens Institute enables a culture to circulate. The geographical distance remains; the olfactory reference, however, becomes common.
