Old Pulteney / The House of Whisky
Creating a territory rather than telling it
In the north of Scotland, Old Pulteney’s identity is rooted in its coastal territory. For its bicentenary, the brand wanted to offer thirty journalists and guests more than just a tasting: a personal way of entering this imaginary world of wood, sea air and heather.
On June 24, 2026, the experience takes place aboard the boat Dom Juan II. The floating venue naturally extends the distillery’s maritime narrative and places participants in a different setting: they no longer simply listen to the story of a product, but explore its materials.
Cinquième Sens imagines a two-hour composition workshop based on a palette inspired by northern Scotland: oak, heather, sea salt, bergamot, malted barley and heather. Each material opens up a facet of the territory, without seeking to reproduce the scent of the whisky itself.
After the guided discovery, each participant creates their own olfactory interpretation. The composition becomes an act of appropriation: each chooses what they retain from the Maison’s universe, balances the facets, and leaves with a personalized fragrance presented under a brand label.
The tasting of rare vintages, the movement of the boat and the olfactory creation form a unique narrative. The memory of the event is no longer based solely on what was said or tasted, but on an object made by one’s own hands.
Atelier de Cinquième Sens becomes a living brand media: it does not describe a territory; it gives everyone the opportunity to create an intimate translation of it.
