Available in France since June 1st, BDK's new perfume pays tribute to the tonka bean, in a
The trilogy associates it with orange blossom and almond. The result of a collaboration between Alexandra Carlin, perfumer
Symrise and David Benedek, the founder of the brand, the new fragrance evokes oriental pastries
and the scents of Morocco, the country of the creator’s grandmother.
«The tonka bean is a material full of contrasts, sometimes reminiscent of vanilla leather. Sometimes, the almond reveals chocolatey facets,» the brand explains in a press release.
On the skin, it gives the impression of an oriental delicacy sprinkled with icing sugar. The tonka bean, with its veined facets, is adorned with almond and rose petals for a velvety effect. A touch of tobacco absolute gives it its honeyed side. In the background, addictive notes of milky wood from amyris are diffused, enhanced with ambroxan and vanilla absolute for unparalleled smoothness and sensuality. Produced from several tropical trees in South America, with varieties sought after in Brazil and Venezuela, the tonka bean is an ingredient often used by chefs, for example. Between honey and chocolate, it gives the perfumes a «warm and sensual» side, explains Alexandra Carlin.
This amber oriental
This amber oriental offers at the top notes of orange blossom and almond, at the heart of rose absolute and Balkan tobacco absolute, and at the base of tonka bean absolute, Madagascar vanilla absolute, an amaryllis wood, and amber woods.

In France, the brand BK Parfums is available, among other places, at Galeries Lafayette, BHV, and at Bon Marché in Paris, but also in a selection of niche perfume shops.
