Whether you are a beauty professional or simply a perfume enthusiast, you will discover amazing discoveries during this training dedicated to discovering the pioneers of secret perfume making. Having immersed myself in the world of cosmetics for several years, I have certainly learned a lot during this one-day module. As a journalist, my knowledge of the subject has developed through product launches and press conferences. But I must admit that my rather focused on newness approach may have lacked a certain fundamental knowledge. These gaps are now being filled by this learning session, which is both dense and playful! The training returns to the origins of private perfume through the actors who gave birth to this rapidly growing category in recent years. A trend today, the “niche” has nevertheless emerged as an alternative approach to traditional perfumery. It was therefore deliberately little known to the general public. The training thus opens with a chapter on strategy (communication, distribution, marketing, etc.). We witness a veritable tour of the world of what Cinquième Sens calls the “pioneers”, that is to say all those who emerged before the year 2000, all in a friendly and interactive atmosphere, where the exchanges are rich between the trainer and the participants. The training, which aims to be participatory, thus mixes brand stories with playful quizzes.
When we talk about private perfume brands, we instinctively probably think of iconic brands such as Serge Lutens, L’Artisan Parfumeur and Diptyque. These mythical signatures are of course covered in this module, but I have also discovered older houses, or even more secret ones: for example, do you know the British brand Floris, the Middle Eastern brand Amouage or the Italian brand Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze?
In total, the collection highlights nearly thirty brands, which are revealed through a brief presentation of the concept and positioning, but also and especially through their fragrances… And these will undoubtedly trigger all kinds of emotions! Born against the grain of so-called classic perfumery, the selection unveils astonishing and daring propositions such as Comme des garçons’ Concrete, which draws its inspiration from concrete and Serge Lutens’ wild creation, Muscs Kloubai Khan, whose overdose of animal notes will certainly not leave you indifferent. But we will also see that the intimate perfume can also reveal a more consensual face, which in no way detracts from the beauty of the forty-eight scents that are experienced one after the other, such as the innocent Petite Chérie by Goutal Paris or the luminous Fig Tea by Nicolaï.
Three good reasons to attend this training:
- understand the private perfume segment with a 360-degree approach (marketing, communication, retail, olfaction…)
- (Re)discover the most iconic perfumes from niche perfumery such as Féminité du bois by Serge Lutens and Premier Figuier by L’Artisan Parfumeur
- getting their noses into the most precious juices like the Iris de Fath (the extract of which costs more than 1000 euros!)
